Trailer bonanza!

Get your first look at Batman's new villains, Romero's new zombies and Joss Whedon's new sci-fi epic.

Apr 28 2005

With summer fast approaching, the studios have released trailers for three of the most eagerly anticipated cult films of the year all at once.

First up is the final trailer for 'Batman Begins', Christopher Nolan's forthcoming entry into the dark knight's canon. Featuring our first good look at villains Ra's Al Ghul (Ken Watanabe) and The Scarecrow (Cillian Murphy) as well a bit more footage of the birth of the bat himself, it suitably whets the appetite for what will doubtless be one of the year's biggest films.

'Batman Begins' hits cinemas on June 22, and to check out the trailer, click here

Next up is the first trailer for George A Romero's 'Land of the Dead', the long-awaited fourth entry in his brilliant zombie series (following 'Night of the Living Dead', 'Dawn of the Dead' and 'Day of the Dead'). The footage sets the scene nicely with some historical context before giving us our first glimpse at George's all-new walking dead, who apparently have the ability to think and communicate this time around!

'Land of the Dead' will be scaring up business nationwide on August 5, and the trailer can be found here

Finally we have 'Serenity', a big-budget slice of futuristic action from 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' creator Joss Whedon. The early word on this spin-off from his unfairly cancelled TV series 'Firefly' has been excellent, and the trailer certainly suggests it could be one of the year's surprise hits.

We'll have to wait until October 7 to find out, but for now the trailer can be viewed in all its Quicktime glory by simply clicking here
