Everyone harbours a dark secret, but Titta Di Girolamo has more than one – why else would a 50-year-old Italian choose to live for eight years in an anonymous hotel room in an anonymous town in Switzerland?
He seems to be a man without identity; happy to while away the hours smoking and observing the hotel's denizens – especially the beautiful barmaid.
'The Consequences of Love', a gripping thriller directed by Paolo Sorrentino, opens on May 27.
