'The Da Vinci Code' teaser hits the net

Catch a first glimpse (sort of) of what Ron Howard has in store for one of the biggest films of 2006.

May 18 2005

A trailer for 'The Da Vinci Code' has gone online, a full year and a day before the film's worldwide release.

A teaser of the most appetite-whetting kind, it shows nothing from the actual movie, although that's probably to be expected as the film has only just gone into production.

However, granite-voiced trailer guy does give us a few clues about what to expect, including: 'A message that has been hidden for centuries,' and 'A secret that could change the course of mankind. Forever!'

Based on Dan Brown's gargantuan bestseller, the film is directed by Ron Howard and stars Tom Hanks, Audrey Tautou, Jean Reno, Alfred Molina and Sir Ian McKellan. In other words, it's as close to a sure thing as you can get.
