Nicole Kidman to reunite with von Trier

The controversial director plans to cast two stars in the third part of his American trilogy.

May 26 2005

Lars von Trier is considering casting both Nicole Kidman and Bryce Dallas Howard in the third part of his American trilogy, 'Washington'.

Kidman played the character Grace in 'Dogville', while Bryce Dallas Howard performed the same role in 'Manderlay', which premiered at Cannes earlier this month (see here for review).

Von Trier has announced that he may split Grace into two characters for the forthcoming final part, one good and one evil, although both actresses apparently want to play the evil role.

'The original agreement for 'Washington' was for both Bryce Dallas Howard and Nicole Kidman to participate in February,' he told Screen Daily. 'It's now postponed. I'll write it when the right ideas and the subject shows itself to me as a necessity.'

Before then von Trier will shoot the Dogme film 'The Manager of it All'.

Posted on Jul 03 2008 15:47
