Nicole Kidman is in talks to star in a remake of the horror classic 'Invasion of the Body-Snatchers'.
The 'Moulin Rouge!' star, who is currently filming Diane Arbus biopic 'Fur' (click here for more information on that one) is apparently mulling over a role in Oliver Hirschbiegel's forthcoming film, according to Production Weekly.
The sci-fi story has already appeared on the big-screen three times before, once in 1956 (reviewed here), then in 1978 (reviewed here) and most recently in 1993 (reviewed here).
This new version, simply called 'Invasion', won't stray far from the classic 'Body-Snatcher' template either, with David Kajganich's script revolving around Kidman's character uncovering a conspiracy in her hometown in which inhabitants' personalities appear to be changing.
Director Hirscbiegel, whose previous films 'Downfall' and 'The Experiment' suggest he is just the man to direct a tense sci-fi horror, is due to start work on the picture in Baltimore in October.
Before then, Kidman will be seen in 'Bewitched', which hits UK screens on August 19, and possibly Wong Kar-Wai's 'The Lady From Shanghai', which is due to go into production soon.
