Don Cheadle and Adam Sandler are to star in 'Reign O'er Me', a film about the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Mike Binder ('The Upside of Anger') will write and direct the feature, which is expected to begin shooting next year.
Sandler will play a man who is unable to move on after the death of his family during the 2001 attack, while Cheadle will play his former room-mate turned doctor who helps his friend overcome his grief.
Two other films based on the tragedy are already underway.
Oliver Stone ('Natural Born Killers') is working on an as yet untitled drama about the rescue of two cops (Nicolas Cage and Michael Pena) from the rubble of the World Trade Centre.
And 'Flight 93', from 'The Bourne Supremacy' director Paul Greengrass, will show what might have happened when passengers on the hijacked plane overpowered the terrorists and crashed in a field, killing all aboard.
