Clooney and Coens combine
George will direct a script by Joel and Ethan called 'Suburbicon'.

George Clooney has announced plans to direct a Coen brothers comedy.
Scripted by Joel and Ethan Coen, 'Suburbicon' is tipped to be a dark comedy in the same vein as their 1996 masterpiece 'Fargo'.
Clooney told Empire 'They offered me a part in 'Suburbicon' a long time ago, and since then decided they have other projects they want to work on. So I called them up and said 'How about me taking a spin at it?''
Clooney has played some of his finest roles under the Coens, such as star-crossed fugitive Ulysses Everett McGill in 'O Brother, Where Art Thou?' and the tooth-obsessed Miles Massey in 'Intolerable Cruelty'.
He has also already proved his worth as a director with 'Confessions of a Dangerous Mind' and the brilliant forthcoming drama 'Good Night, And Good Luck'.
Clooney is currently working on 'The Good German', his fifth feature with director Steven Soderbergh ('Out of Sight', 'Ocean's Eleven'), and will begin shooting 'Suburbicon' next year.
