Harry Potter pummels Mrs Henderson

The boy wizard is more than a match for Will Young and a bunch of naked ladies at the box office.

Harry Potter continues to cast a magic spell over the London box office, conjuring up a whopping £466,775 haul over the weekend.

And with the boy wizard pulling in similarly large audiences all over the world, it looks like 'Goblet of Fire' could be the most successful Potter film yet.

Attracting an altogether different (and doubtless slightly more mature) audience was 'Mrs Henderson Presents' at number two.

A former Time Out film of the week, its mixture of nudity, nostalgia, war-time drama and yet more nudity helped the film gross a very respectable £194,742 from 22 screens.

And crashing in at number three was 'Flightplan', a risible thriller somewhat redeemed by a fine performance from Jodie Foster as a mother in peril called Kyle.

The only other new entry was horror-cum-courtroom drama 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose' at number five, while further chart movement is so minimal that it's barely worthy mentioning. So we won't.
