The Rock is no match for Harry Potter at the box office

'Doom' fails to make much of an impression on the London chart, while Harry Potter continues to dominate.

'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' continued to rule the box office roost this past weekend, holding onto the top spot for a third successive week.

The hugely successful blockbuster took more than double its nearest rival, although the film's overall gross dropped from 466,775 last weekend to £241,654 this weekend, suggesting that the wee wizard may finally be running out of box office steam.

'The Constant Gardener' moved up from four to two, swapping places with 'Mrs Henderson Presents' which fell from two to four, while sandwiched between the pair was Jodie Foster thriller 'Flightplan'.

Brit-com 'Keeping Mum' was the highest new entry, coming straight in at number five, while further down the chart there were two further new entries in the shape of action-flick 'Doom' and murder mystery 'Where the Truth Lies' at eight and nine respectively.

Next week, expect 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe' to finally knock young Potter off the top spot, while spellbinding documentary 'March of the Penguins' should also do well.
