'CHiPs' ready to roll on the big screen
The TV hit about two California motorcycle cops is set to become a film starring Wilmer Vilderrama.

Cop show 'ChiPs', which followed the adventures of two members of the motorcycle division of the California Highway Patrol, is all set to make the transition to the big screen.
The hugely popular programme, which ran from 1977 to 1983, starred Erik Estrada as Francis 'Ponch' Poncherello and Larry Wilcox as Jon Baker.
The film version is currently being written by Paul Kaplan and Mark Torgrove (who worked on the TV shows 'Spin City' and 'Just shoot Me'), and will be a modern day action comedy in the vein of last year's 'Starsky and Hutch' update.
As for who will play the all-important hero cops, Wilmer Valderrama ('Party Monster') has been cast in the Ponch role, while producers are currently looking for an actor to play Baker.
