Hartnett tackles Hamlet

Josh Hartnett is to star in 'Texas Lullaby', a modern adaptation of Shakespeare's 'Hamlet'.

Dec 14 2005

'Sin City' star Josh Hartnett is to star in a modern-day feature based on William Shakespeare's 'Hamlet'.

Set in East Texas in the late 1980s, 'Texas Lullaby' will revolve around a young man trying to come to terms with the death of his father in mysterious circumstances.

Mirroring the classic play's plot, his mother then marries his father's brother, causing Hartnett's character to further question the reasons for his death.

Malcolm Venville will direct Steve Allison's script, while John Malkovich, Ellen Barkin, Tom Waits and Alison Lohman have all signed up to star.
