Sarandon 'Enchanted' by Disney

Susan Sarandon will play an evil queen in a new film that will combine live action and animation.

Jan 13 2006

Susan Sarandon will play a wicked fairytale queen in the forthcoming Disney flick 'Enchanted'.

The 'Elizabethtown' star will play the evil Queen Narissa, who banishes a young princess (Amy Adams) from her world of classical animation to a modern-day Manhattan.

To achieve the required effects, 'Enchanted' will combine live action and animation, with Disney animator James Baxter ('Beauty and the Beast') providing the traditional 'toon look.

Based on a script by Bill Kelly ('Blast from the Past'), the film will be directed by Kevin Lima ('Tarzan', '102 Dalmatians') and is set to go into production in April.
