'Manderlay' screening offer
We've got 150 tickets to give away to a very special Time Out screening of Lars von Trier's new film.
Feb 10 2006
'Dogville' caused quite a stir when it was released in 2003, as much for director Lars von Trier's stunning, stark visual style as the film's difficult and challenging themes.
And it seems that the eccentric Dane is at it again with 'Dogville's even more controversial sequel, 'Manderlay'.
Starring Bryce Dallas Howard, Danny Glover, Willem Dafoe and Lauren Bacall, the film is an exploration of contemporary race issues and debates surrounding the installation of 'democracy' in a small southern town.
'Manderlay' is released on March 3, but thanks to the lovely people at Metrodome, we have tickets for a preview on Tues Feb 28 at 6.15pm at Cineworld Shaftesbury Avenue.
Send a first class SAE, marked 'Manderlay' to Time Out Online, 251 Tottenham Court Rd, London W1T 7AB by Feb 10. The first 75 readers selected at random will each receive a pair of tickets.

- This film is disturbing yet/thus brilliant. For a very thoughtful take on it, see http://www.brightlightsfilm.com/51/manderlay.htm Posted on Feb 19 2006 10:17
