Clooney steamrollers the London box office
George's 'Good Night, and Good Luck' is a new entry at number one.
Feb 21 2006
Man with the Midas touch George Clooney entered the London film charts at number one over the weekend with his new picture, 'Good Night, and Good Luck'.
Clooney, co-writer, director and star of the flick, left Sunday's BAFTA awards empty-handed, but the fact that his brilliant political drama grossed £155,995 from 22 screens should put something of a smile on his face.
Aside from that, it was pretty quiet on the box office front.
'Casanova' was the only other new entry at four, 'Chicken Little' disconcertingly rose from five to three (a by-product of bird flu perhaps?), 'Big Momma's House' stayed at six (though who the hell is going to see it we don't know), and beautiful snore-a-thon 'Memoirs of a Geisha' looks to have danced its last dance at number ten.
Next week, the brilliant 'Capote' could hit the top spot, while 'Lucky Number Slevin' should also do well.

Is the reason for the openly racist comments, because you all know that there will be no consequences to your statements? You are all free to do and say whatever you like, because you are all above the law of decency and respect?
I have come to dislike all of you critics you are all so impressed with your own wit and intelligence.
Those who can do, those who cannot are known as critics. Posted on Mar 07 2006 14:02 - Report as inappropriate
