'Guauntanamo' actors detained
Two stars of 'The Road to Guantanamo' were detained under anti-terror laws last week.

In a bizarre case of life imitating art (imitating life), two actors from forthcoming film 'The Road to Guantanamo' were stopped at Luton Airport under anti-terror laws last Thursday.
Michael Winterbottom's controversial feature, which tells the tale of the Guantanamo Bay detainees, collectively known as the Tipton Three, had just won a Silver Bear award at the Berlin Festival – the actors were returning from the festival when they were stopped at Luton.
Human rights group Reprieve revealed that the actors, Rizwan Ahmed and Farhad Harun, were detained for an hour, along with two of the original Tipton Three who were travelling with them.
No arrests were made however, and Bedford police said that no complaint had been lodged about the incident and officers were simply carrying out their normal duties.

- It's worrying to think that this sort of behaviour goes on in a supposedly free, tolerant society. Can't wait to watch the film (it's on Ch4 on Thurs BTW), looks extremely interesting. - no, james is right. it's been reported that they were verbally abused (i.e. 'do you plan to make any more political films?' 'did you make this film purely to further the cause of islam?' the police may not have been breaking the law, but they sure demonstrated worrying pig ignorance in this case.
