Batman and Superman to return
Warner Bros are planning sequels to the two lucrative comic book franchises.
Feb 23 2006
Having plunged headfirst into the pool of politics yesterday, it's nice for The TOMB to be able to report on something a little more light-hearted today, and breaking news from Warner Bros fulfils just that criteria.
The studio has announced sequels to both 'Batman Begins' and 'Superman Returns', in spite of the fact that the latter hasn't even hit cinemas yet.
The 'Batman' sequel is currently being scripted by Jonathan 'brother of Christopher' Nolan, and Variety reports that it could make its debut in 2008.
The 'Superman' sequel probably won't take off until 2009 however, as once director Bryan Singer finishes work on 'Returns', he plans to remake sci-fi classic 'Logan's Run'.
Expect stars Christian Bale and Brandon Routh to re-don their capes for the features, but aside from that, little else is known about the sequels at present.
