Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

Its title may make it sound like one of those saucy British sex comedies from the early 1970s, but in fact this is a squeaky clean Warner Bros musical. Powell's an ingenuous, clean-cut music professor from out in the sticks who heads for Manhattan hoping to sell his symphony. Smooth but untrustworthy shyster Ronald Reagan buys it, but then bowdlerises it, turning it into a popular song for oomph girl, Ann Sheridan. Wittily scripted by the prolific Jerry Wald, this takes a few sly digs at the world of music publishing before dribbling off into a conventional romantic ending.
