A New Life (1988)
Director: Alan Alda
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
After 20 years of marriage, middle-class New Yorkers Alda and Ann-Margaret decide to call it a day, leaving each of them free to enter anew the wild and wonderful world of the single life - which has altered somewhat since last they encountered it. This is deep Woody Allen territory, and despite something of a change of image for Alda the actor (bearded, permed and obnoxious), Alda the writer/director isn't quite able to ring the changes on a familiar routine. Smoothly done, though.Author: TJ
