Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

Purportedly a political film, but strangely anything but in its refusal to deal in any detail with ideology. For all its tough posturing, this is basically rather a soft centred coming of age drama about a bookish student in Pisa who falls for a girl involved with a group of anti-capitalist squatters and activists. One of those wistful movies evoking a crucial moment when fate steps in and sets a life moving in a certain direction, it's quite watchable, but toothless, apart from the powerfully effective scenes depicting police brutality against those suspected of any involvement in Genoa's G8 riots.
