Escape from the Planet of the Apes (1971)
Director: Don Taylor
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
The third in the series. Quite a cheat, really, as Cornelius, Zira and Milo slip through a bend of time and avoid the holocaust. They find themselves back on human-dominated earth. Which is good for the budget as there is hardly a space device in sight. Instead, all we get are hysterical reactions from the local US government fascist, Zira lecturing to the Women's Institute, a friendly circus owner...But the pessimism of the earlier two films remains, as well as another loophole, for the follow-up. It's a long way down from even the second in the series.Author:
