The approach employed here is so unimaginative, the format so tired, that electro-cardiac shock couldn't save this melodrama (filmed in English) from its own dubiously oversimplified politics. Don Stevens (Walken), jaded war correspondent, finds himself in the Lebanon, a disengaged hack who wanders somnolently through the gunfire, until an exclusive (which turns out to be a set-up) plunges him into the middle of the battle.
