Wendy Cracked a Walnut (1990)
Director: Michael Pattinson
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
The Australian cinema has built up a reputation for quirky, low-budget gems, but this comedy-romance succeeds only on the first two counts. Arquette tries hard, but is hopelessly miscast as a dowdy housewife (even with spectacles, you can't believe it) who is whisked off her feet by the man of her dreams (Spence). There's a bit of a twist at the end, and some good intentions, but you'd be better off staying home and reading Mills & Boon.Author: DW
