Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

Womanising, boozy, cheeky presenter (Gleeson) of TV North's 'What's Cooking?' programme is kicked senseless by louts on a night-time cigarette hunt, causing him to lose his memories and old ways, much to the relief and eventual pleasure of his son and seriously pissed-off wife (Donohoe). But is this rejuvenation just an act? This lightweight, but enjoyable comedy is directed by the creator of TV's Father Ted and is full of satisfying detail (notably in the programme itself) and neatly timed broad comedy, but its bid for romantic appeal turns it sentimental. The leads are on the money.
