Dancing With Crime (1947)
Director: John Paddy Carstairs
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Attenborough as an earnest young taxi-driver, recently demobbed, who, though headed for marriage on a shoestring, stoutly refuses the temptation to come in on a mysterious black market deal with an ex-army pal (Owen). Setting out to investigate when he finds the dead pal dumped in his taxi, he tracks the villains to a local dance hall they use as a front, and - with his girl (Sim) intrepidly going undercover on his behalf - brings them to justice. Strictly conventional all the way, but not unlikeable, despite some clumsily staged fisticuffs for the climax.Author: TM
