Dandy, the All-American Girl (1976)
Director: Jerry Schatzberg
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Determinedly offbeat comedy, with Channing as a slightly crazy car-thief, stealing and selling a variety of autos as she attempts to gain enough cash to buy herself a Ferrari. Meanwhile, she plays a complex romantic game with three very different male admirers. Schatzberg, forsaking the serious and muddled statements of films like Scarecrow and Puzzle of a Downfall Child, here comes up with a relaxed and meandering study of eccentric characters on the fringes of society, as messy and occasionally likeable as Henry Jaglom's far more garrulous efforts. Indulgent, directionless, but well-performed and often witty.Author: GA
