Deadly Run (1982)
Director: Claude Miller
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Miller in Chabrol territory with an intriguing thriller, based on Marc Behm's novel The Eye of the Beholder, in which Serrault's somewhat eccentric private eye is given a case following a young runaway couple. When the woman (Adjani) murders the man, Serrault simply follows her through a series of further killings, suspecting (or wishing) she might be his long-lost daughter. A colourful if not altogether successful study in obsession and guilt transference, it features excellent performances all round (Serrault is magnificent, as always) and a surprisingly appropriate score by Carla Bley.Author: GA
