Death Trap (1976)
Director: Tobe Hooper
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Hooper's follow-up to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is a further exploration of American rural degeneracy, about a senile swamp dweller (Brand) with a hook arm who likes to feed tourists and their children to his alligator. At its best, the film's lurid tone matches the evocative gloom of the EC horror comics of the '50s, in particular the amazing swamp stories drawn by 'Ghastly' Graham Inglis. Otherwise, it's trite and unconvincing.Author: DP
