Demon Seed (1977)
Director: Donald Cammell
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Back from the post-Performance wilderness, Cammell was offered the thankless task of spinning a cripplingly restrictive premise - Christie trapped, menaced and impregnated by a super-computer desperate to produce a 'brainchild' offspring before its plugs are pulled - to feature length. A few of his labyrinthine concerns and much advanced animation work (plus optical assistance from once-celebrated avant-gardist Jordan Belson) spice the thin conceit, but it's a doomed project.Author: PT
