Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

This preposterous 19th century bodice-ripper is set Down Under in a raunchy harbour town periodically injected with fresh blood in the form of grimy transportees. One such is Hayes (Smith) who is enlisted by an opulent but penniless dressmaker (Ward-Lealand) to save her opium-addicted sister from a callous fop (Curtis). Stagy, set-bound, and dazzling enough to trigger a migraine. A film that dares to be bad, and succeeds quite splendidly.
