Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

Actually, the same old schlock, except that the first thirty minutes are in drag: a sort of Touch of Class screwball comedy which has been uneasily welded to a homosexual subject. Albert (King) wears aprons, designs frocks, and shacks up with Stella (likeable Meg Foster, playing a happily adjusted lesbian). But when Albert starts staying out nights, it looks like he's backsliding... A glossily persuasive film which presents its 'real' gays as neurotics or gangsters, and offers us so many clichés about role reversal, marriage and pregnancy that it makes An Unmarried Woman look like an intelligent study of divorce.
