The Divorce of Lady X (1938)
Director: Tim Whelan
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Korda lavished an expensive Technicolor production job on this wafer-thin comedy, a remake of the 1933 quota quickie Counsel's Opinion. Unable to find a room at a top London hotel, Oberon spends an innocent night in stranger Olivier's bed under the pretence that they're a married couple. Next day the latter is visited by Lord Richardson, ready to divorce his wife on the ground that she'd been in another gentleman's room the night before. Major-league thesps in their fresh-faced youth.Author: TJ
