From Time Out Film Guide

George has the task of training up a thousand new pilots for a massed raid on a Nazi aeronautics factory in this routine WWII actioner. Along the way he begins to wonder whether saturation bombing is justified...but by that time the mission is fixed. Doubtful whether the budget actually stretched to the demands of the title.
