Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

Kinski's teenage son runs away from home in LA, after yet another row with dad. She calls old boyfriend Crystal, informs him he has a son, and suggests he go find the kid. Then she calls old boyfriend Williams, and informs him that he has a son, etc. Crystal's the relatively straight guy, a self-centred lawyer with a taste for time-saving social shortcuts, Williams - somewhat restrained - his goofier accomplice, a wimpy failed writer who flaps and emotes. Writers Ganz and Mandell (Parenthood, City Slickers) go pleasingly light on the syrup and sentimentality. A remake of Francis Verber's Les Compères (1983).
