Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

Slightly obscure plot from Alistair MacLean's novel about a gang of thugs out to hijack a planeload of gold and jewels. The hero's wife, brother and kid are on the plane, which is shot down into the sea. So he (Newman) vengefully sets out to infiltrate his way into the organisation, as salvage expert to retrieve the loot, by means of spectacular car chases and assorted killings. A sexless, insubstantial movie, but it's fast and clean, with a reasonable line in suspense.

Posted on Nov 22 2007 08:22 This movie is typical of the early seventies. It has one somewhat interesting car chase and a plot that is uninspired. The acting is stiff, the writing is boring and the directing is so/so. If you are a fan of old action movies and can suspend your disbelief well enough you may enjoy this ragged flick.
