Standard World War II flagwaver in which Wayne, having fought for the principle that a non-combatant pioneer corps should nevertheless be armed, spends his time wiping out loads of brutish Japs in between bouts of romancing the pretty (and pretty unbelievable) war correspondent who happens to be on hand in the person of Susan Hayward.
