Flight from Ashiya (1963)
Director: Michael Anderson
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Tepid adventure movie, with an American Air-Sea Rescue Service team flying to save the crew of a ship sunk off the Japanese coast in a typhoon. The lumbering action scenes are further deflated by flashbacks to previous disasters the heroes have experienced; and Anderson, master of the overblown twaddle-movie (Around the World in 80 Days, Logan's Run), miraculously even manages to waste the photographic talents of Burnett Guffey and Joe MacDonald.Author: GA
