Freddie as F.R.0.7. (1992)
Director: Jon Acevski
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Prince Frederic is transformed into a magical frog by his wicked aunt in a fairytale preamble to this animation feature. Bizarrely, we cut to the modern day, where he is the pride of the French secret service. Meanwhile, Blighty is losing its heritage at an alarming rate. Nelson's Column has vanished. The Tower of London disappears overnight. With 007 in Hollywood, MI6 turn in desperation to F.R.0.7. Billed as 'An Amazing Fantasy of a New Kind', the movie is a hotchpotch of half-baked ideas ransacked from Disney, Bond and, at a guess, cult shows like The Avengers and Dr Who. The most intriguing notion is that by stealing historic monuments, the Snake Queen hopes to extract the country's life force and plunge the population into inertia. The rest is lame jokes and outmoded stereotypes.Author: TCh
