Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

Jesse, now 17, and Max, aged ten, team up to gather evidence needed by the authorities to clamp down on the illegal trade in whale meat. The film tactfully brings home the cruelty of the whaling industry ( a U certificate notwithstanding), and declines to treat Max's dad (himself a whaling captain) as a black-hearted monster. A satisfying family movie, with plenty of aquatic frolicking, and not too preachy.
