Babes on Broadway (1941)
Director: Busby Berkeley
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Perhaps the best of the Garland-Rooney musicals, only momentarily marred by some sentimentality about British war orphans. Following the usual putting-on-a-show formula, it features an unusually rich and varied collection of numbers, and gives Rooney a rare opportunity to show off his talent for impersonation. Minnelli got his first taste of direction on Garland's solos, in particular the 'Ghost Theatre' sequence.Author: TM
