Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

It would be nice to say that ex-MGM choreographer Champion came up with a goodie in this adaptation of Donald Westlake's novel about an escaped con (Scott) who steals an entire (mobile) bank. But despite sundry excellent ideas and the odd touch of magic (a scene shot in silhouette; Scott swimming out to sea at the end), Bank Shot is one of those caper films that start all stops out and have nowhere to go. Potentially good gags get lost in the rush: the jailbreak accomplished in a bulldozer; the arrival of the stolen bank in a senior citizens' mobile home park - nothing is as funny as it should be.
