The Belles of St Trinian's (1954)
Director: Frank Launder
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
First in the highly enjoyable if hardly sophisticated series of Launder and Gilliat comedies based on Ronald Searle's cartoons about unruly brats and incompetent staff at a seedy girls' school. Predictable, perhaps, but it's hard to resist the performances of Cole as a conniving spiv and Sim (in drag) as the bumbling headmistress.Author: GA
