Blithe Spirit (1945)
Director: David Lean
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
A classy adaptation of Noël Coward's successful stage play, in which the wedded bliss of cynical remarried novelist Harrison is threatened by the mischievous ghost of his first wife (Hammond), who appears at a seance presided over by Rutherford's eccentric medium and proceeds to bother his none-too-amused second wife (Cummings). Nifty special effects for the time, and plenty of Coward's inimitable wit and repartee.Author: NF
