The Blues A Musical Journey: Piano Blues (2003)
Director: Clint Eastwood
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Eastwood indulges his lifelong affection for jazz and blues with this engagingly relaxed, no-nonsense look at the art of Tatum, Peterson, Nat Cole, Professor Longhair, Ray Charles, Jay McShann, Brubeck, Dr John, et al. The last four mentioned are still around to wax wonderfully about their influences and experiences, and play a few bars at the same time - Brubeck has one especially fine number. Then there are the archive clips... Beautifully unpretentious, and made with true love and understanding.Author: GA
