Bodies, Rest & Motion (1993)
Director: Michael Steinberg
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Roger Hedden's adaptation of his own play charts the reverberations of a collision between four young dead-enders in an Arizona desert town. Selfish, nihilistic TV salesman Nick (Roth) is determined to head for Bute, Montana; Beth (Fonda), his current partner, is altogether less restless, while Carol (Cates) - friend to both and Nick's former (?) lover - seems to want them around. Into this unappealing ménage stumbles Sid (Stoltz), a decorator come to paint Nick and Beth's house for the next tenant, a banal doper with the hots for Beth. A laid-back look at youthful rootlessness which never really catches fire.Author: GA
