The Boogie Man Will Get You (1942)
Director: Lew Landers
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Irresistibly ramshackle horror spoof, with Karloff - abetted by a puckish Lorre, who's the town mayor, police chief, estate agent and everything else - as a mad scientist busily at work in the basement of a house let to newlyweds, trying to help the war effort by creating a superman out of raw materials obtained by bumping off the living. Often crudely farcical but still surprisingly inventive, and the cast (Lorre especially) do wonders.Author: TM
