Both Sides of the Street (1991)
Director: Isabel Sébastian
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
Lilas and Marie are the unlikeliest of friends - one a prostitute, the other a young virgin - but their relationship prompts Lilas' discovery of maternal urges, while Marie learns to embrace her sexuality. Meanwhile, playboy Pierre is on hand to offer advice to his young friend. Writer/director Sébastian tones down sensationalism, but she also strips the film of credibility; some sequences prove titillating, and the characters remain woefully two-dimensional. Superficial and unaffecting.Author: CM
