Movie review

From Time Out Film Guide

One of the more intelligent, slick and witty shots at the bronzed, big-named rockumentary. Tracing the 'Dream of the Blue Turtles' live project from press conference through rehearsals to the first night in Paris, we get about two-thirds music and one-third chat, both elements varying greatly in quality. Sting, though central, is seldom as colourful or revealing as jazz-rooted band members Marsalis, Kirkland or Hakim. Things are also a little too clean and easy throughout, but then there's always the music - never jazz, of course, but at its best tuneful, highly politicised rock in the hands of some of the most talented musicians in the world.
