...But Then, She's Betty Carter (1980)
Director: Michelle D Parkerson
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
A profile of Betty 'Bebop' Carter, intercutting interview material with footage from a public concert sponsored by Howard University at the Cranston Auditorium. Roughly slapped together in a manner not entirely inappropriate to the lady's brash personality and scat-singing style, the numbers tend to be truncated by conversations which reveal remarkably little. Even Lionel Hampton, in a guest spot, seems infected by the air of self-congratulation.Author: TM
