Cabeza de Vaca (1990)
Director: Nicolas Echevarria
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
An expiatory historical epic based on the journal of the Spanish conquistador Cabeza de Vaca. Shipwrecked with his crew in what is now Florida in 1528, de Vaca went native with the local Americans. It's a spectacular, beautifully shot, anti-imperialist bloodbath of a movie, which plays like a demented mix of Herzog, Jodorowsky and Tarkovsky.Author: WH
