La Campana del Infierno (1973)
Director: Claudio Guerin Hill
Movie review
From Time Out Film Guide
On the whole a reasonably thought out baroque tale about a young man whose aunt is trying to get him certified in order to collect his inheritance. In return, he plans elaborate revenge against her and her three beautiful daughters. The complexities of the central character are well handled, and there's enough evidence to suggest that some care went into the film's making. So even when the plot flags, it remains good to look at (a mixture of Buñuel and Roger Corman), apart from some graphic scenes in an abattoir. Lindfors is excellent as the aunt. In a tragic irony, the director jumped or fell to his death from the bell-tower after shooting was completed.Author: CPea
